FIRE RESISTANCE DESIGN MANUAL (GA-600-2006) The 18th edition of the Gypsum Association’s flagship publication depicts over 340 systems that may be used for fire-rated walls and partitions, floor/ceiling systems, roof/ceiling systems, and to protect columns, beams, and girders. Included for the first time in this edition are several new floor- and roof-ceiling systems and double-stud steel partition designs. This manual provides contractors, designers, specifiers, owners, and others with a convenient compilation of the latest in tested gypsum-board designed fire-rated protection systems (as well as some tried and true older systems hat have been with us for quite awhile). It also helps building officials keep up with fire-rated gypsum board systems that are permitted under the codes. RECOMMENDED LEVELS OF GYPSUM BOARD FINISH (GA-214-07) This publication, jointly produced by the four leading associations in the industry, assists specifiers, owners, and contractors to precisely describe the desired finish of individual walls and ceilings to meet specific needs. Avoids non-specific terms like "industry standards" and "workmanlike finish" and the problems they can cause. RECOMMENDED LEVELS OF GYPSUM BOARD FINISH: MATRIX EDITION (GA-214-M-97) This document uses the section of GA-214-96 that discusses the specific criteria required to achieve individual levels of finish and presents them in a convenient non-text, matrix format. The information contained in this handy matrix is identical to the GA-214-96 document above; however its format allows for quick referencing. APPLICATION AND FINISHING OF GYPSUM PANEL PRODUCTS (GA-216-07) This illustrated booklet describes the most up-to-date industry recommendations for the proper installation and finishing of gypsum board, including related accessories, over a variety of substrates and framing. An invaluable resource for owners, specifiers, installers, and code officials. The drywall hanger's bible. GYPSUM BOARD WINTER RELATED INSTALLATION RECOMMENDATIONS (GA-220-06) Winter weather conditions may be a major or contributing cause of joint compound bond failures, delayed shrinkage, beading, joint shadowing, and board sagging. Learn how to avoid the problems associated with cold weather with this publication containing the recommendations of the industry's foremost experts. REPAIR OF GYPSUM BOARD JOINT RIDGING (GA-221-2000) Describes the symptoms, causes, and repair methods for joint ridging in gypsum board surfaces. REPAIRING SCREW OR NAIL POPS IN GYPSUM BOARD SURFACES (GA-222-96) Describes the symptoms, causes, and repair methods for fastener pops in gypsum board surfaces. GYPSUM PANEL PRODUCTS TYPES, USES, SIZES, AND STANDARDS (GA-223-04) Summarizing the many different types of gypsum board used in the industry, this quick reference gives typical uses of, and the ASTM and CSA standards for, each type. Also included is the appropriate industry standard designation for the installation of each type of gypsum board, along with the sizes and thicknesses generally available. INSTALLATION OF PREDECORATED GYPSUM BOARD (GA-224-08) A companion to the popular Application and Finishing of Gypsum Panel Products (GA-216-04), this specification covers the minimum requirements for the installation of predecorated gypsum board. REPAIR OF FIRE-RATED GYPSUM BOARD SYSTEMS (GA-225-08) The industry's latest recommendations for repairing damaged fire- resistance rated gypsum systems. Discusses everything from patching a small hole to full scale replacement of large damaged areas. APPLICATION OF GYPSUM BOARD TO FORM CURVED SURFACES (GA-226-08) Describes special application methods used to install gypsum board on curved wall or ceiling surfaces. SHEAR VALUES FOR SCREW APPLICATION OF GYPSUM BOARD ON WALLS (GA-229-08) Technical data sheet listing shear values developed for various thicknesses of gypsum board screw-attached to wood framing under varying conditions of gypsum board orientation and screw spacing. ASSESSING WATER DAMAGE TO GYPSUM BOARD (GA-231-06) A publication providing general industry conditions for assessing gypsum board that has been exposed to water or elevated levels of moisture. Includes recommendations for drying conditions. PAINTING NEW GYPSUM BOARD (GA-232-04) A publication providing industry specifications on surface preparation and priming of gypsum board. CONTROL JOINTS FOR FIRE-RESISTANCE RATED SYSTEMS (GA-234-08) Up-to-date recommendations addressing special uses of control joints. Illustrates control joint usage in 1- and 2-hour fire ratings for wood-framed and metal-framed systems. GYPSUM BOARD TYPICAL MECHANICAL AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES (GA-235-05) This document is a useful reference piece for architects and engineers, especially at the project design stage. The document contains values for flexural strength; effective stiffness; effective modulus of rupture (MOR); core, end, and edge hardness; compressive strength; impact resistance; nail pull resistance; negative wind load resistance; humidified deflection; water absorption; surface water absorption; thermal coefficient of linear expansion; hygrometric coefficient of expansion; surface burning characteristics; noncombustibility; potential heat; thermal properties; weight per unit area; and permeance. JOINT TREATMENT UNDER EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS (GA-236-2000) This two-page special recommendation is a valuable reference guide for anyone involved with the application and drying of joint compounds and adhesives in extreme weather conditions. GUIDELINES FOR PREVENTION OF MOLD GROWTH ON GYPSUM BOARD (GA-238-03) Guidelines to be observed to minimize the potential for mold growth on gypsum board. WATER-RESISTANT GYPSUM BACKING BOARD
FOR CERAMIC TILE IN WET AREAS This document discusses the properties and proper installation considerations for water-resistant gypsum backing board.
